The hotel development located at 1717 Broadway at 54th Street — the one known as the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere — has topped out. Previous reports showed that the property would rise 716 feet, but the New York Observer said it topped out at 750 feet.

The hotel will have 634 rooms and actually includes two hotels. As previously reported, the lower 24 floors will be a Marriott Courtyard and the upper 30 floors will be a Marriott Residence Inn, an extended-stay hotel brand. The hotel floors will all be built atop a 20,000-square-foot retail space.

Courtyard has been making moves lately in the Tri-State area — as reported last week, a Courtyard location opened in Newark, which marked the downtown area’s first hotel opening in over 10 years.
