The penthouse at 18 Gramercy Park is in contract for the full asking price of $42 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Upon closing, the deal is to represent the highest price ever paid for a Manhattan apartment south of 59th Street, according to Jonathan Miller of analytics firm Miller Samuel.

The five-bedroom duplex has four terraces — one spanning 40 feet — and an outdoor swimming pool, the Journal said.

Developers Arthur and William Zeckendorf and Eyal Ofer partnered again with architect Robert A.M. Stern, with whom they previously teamed up for blockbuster building 15 Central Park West.

The developers told the Journal that eight of the 16 units at 18 Gramercy Park are currently in contract. [WSJ, 4th item] — Guelda Voien
