Tech firm, ditching Soho, heads to Dumbo

The technology company Casserole Labs is casting aside its space at 568 Broadway for 4,500 square feet across the bridge at 231 Front Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn, Crain’s reported. The company inked a five-year lease with asking rents coming in at $32 per square foot for the third-floor space.

The company’s current location at 568 Broadway is the same building where Foursquare, a location-based social network, and Thrillist, a lifestyle e-newsletter, have office spaces. Casserole Labs designs and develops tech platforms.

Aptsandlofts.com represented the landlord Meir Moore Inc. and declined to comment, as did Zachary Banks of Casserole Labs.

As previously reported, Brooklyn is becoming quite the tech hot spot, rivaling Midtown South. The Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Naval Annex Historic Campus is slated to be converted into a media, technology and film hub. And Dumbo is located off what has been billed as the “F Train Tech Corridor.” [Crain’s]
