Google comes to Chelsea Market: VIDEO

Google already has its own building at 111 Eighth Avenue, which it bought for $1.9 billion in 2010. But now the tech giant is set to lease approximately 94,000 square feet at Chelsea Market, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Google had simply run out of space at its building adjacant to Chelsea Market. “They basically hit their limit in the building that they own. They bumped up against other tenants with existing leases,” Anjali Athavaley, a reporter for the Journal, wrote. “It is an example of how the tech industry, as it expands here, faces real estate issues.
