New apartment building to rise on Avenue B

November 16, 2012 03:00PM

Avenue B is set to get a new apartment building, EV Grieve reported. On the lot at 26 Avenue B, between 2nd and 3rd street, a six-story building is slated to rise.

According to Curbed, Croxley Ales’ beer garden formerly occupied the lot. The building will house eight units, though it remains unclear if they will be rentals or condos.

Shiming Tam is the architect on record. There will also be a restaurant or bar on the ground floor.

As previously reported, Alphabet City is on the upswing. Previously a crime-ridden neighborhood, it is now seeing new residential development and rising rents. [EV Grieve] and [Curbed]Zachary Kussin
