Streeteasy.com, the real estate listings provider, celebrated the season last night at a party that brought together brokers, staffers and clients. Fredrik Eklund, a Douglas Elliman broker and a star of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing New York” made a brief appearance at the event, accompanied by his future costar Luis Ortiz, a broker with Keller Williams NYC. Streeteasy CEO Michael Smith and data guru Sofia Song were on hand to welcome about 200 guests, who also included OnLine Residential founder Jonathan Greenspan and Mark David, the head of an eponymous residential brokerage.
The venue featured red leather and chrome couches, a wall covered in a tangle of greenery, and a soundtrack heavy on the Smiths. Meanwhile, guests nibbled on truffle oil-infused puff pastry bites, chicken satay skewers and asparagus spears wrapped in bacon.
However, this year’s fete seemed more subdued than Streeteasy’s 2011 holiday party, which boasted about the same number of guests squeezed into the Mister H bar at the Mondrian Soho Hotel at 9 Crosby Street. At the time, Smith said the bash was a splurge compared to the previous year, when the company held a private gathering.
But an old-timey photo booth made a reappearance, enticing guests with a suitcase full of oversized sunglasses, elf hats and reindeer antler headbands.
