“Born to Run” cottage hits market for $350,000

A two-bedroom cottage where rock star Bruce Springsteen wrote his “Born to Run” album has hit the market for $350,000, the Asbury Park Press reported. The Boss, though, never owned the home, in Long Branch, N.J. He was a mere renter in 1974 and 1975, when he crafted his string of hits, including “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out.”

Springsteen’s ties to the property, at 7 1/2 West End Court, is no secret. Realtor Susan McLaughlin of Keller Williams, who has the listing, told the Asbury Park Press that tourists stop by to look “all the time.”

The home, all five rooms of it, has three owners; two are willing to keep their shares if a prospective buyer finds $350,000 a little too pricey — even for a piece of rock and roll history. [Asbury Park Press via NYDN]Zachary Kussin
