“Punch” Sulzberger’s UES pad sells for $12.5 M

An Upper East Side apartment belonging to the legendary newsman Arthur Ochs “Punch” Sulzberger, Sr. has sold for $12.5 million, the New York Observer reported. 

Located at 1010 Fifth Avenue On East 82nd Street, the eighth-floor corner unit that was once home to the longtime publisher of the New York Times has three bedrooms and 18 closets. It was listed by Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sheila Ellis and Patricia Wheatley. Ellis declined to comment to the Observer about the deal.

The buyers are listed in city records as intellectual property lawyer Alessandro Saracino and wife Maria de la Fe.
