High-kicking “Million Dollar Listing New York” star Fredrik Eklund has snapped up a large two-bedroom apartment at the new condominium conversion by the Witkoff Group at 10 Madison Square West, he told The Real Deal.

The Swedish dealmaker, recently married to artist beau Derek Kaplan, snagged the unit just a week after the building came online this spring, marketed by the new development division of his own firm, Douglas Elliman. He declined to provide the unit number or the contract price.

Prices at the property start around $3.8 million for a two-bedroom apartment.

The purchase comes less than a year after Eklund bought a 65-foot-wide loft at 144 West 27th Street in nearby Chelsea for $1.65 million. While Eklund had no plans to Move From His West 27th Street pad, he changed his mind once he saw the sales office for the Witkoff project, he said.

“I walked in and really fell in love with it,” Eklund said today. “I’m obsessed with the area and all the change that’s Happening On Broadway.”

New projects which have hit the market in the area include the Whitman condominium at 21 East 26th Street and One Madison Park.

Eklund was particularly attracted to the unit’s large walk-in dressing room area, he said, noting that he has “a lot of clothes.” The 24-story building also features a fitness center, a 60-foot lap pool, a yoga and pilates studio and a spa treatment room.

The television star and his new husband will remain at 144 West 27th Street until they’re able to move into their new digs. (Occupancy at 10 Madison Square West is slated for late 2014 or early 2015.) He listed his West 27th Street unit for $3.25 million in May but pulled it off the market in June.

Elliman’s Kirk Rundhaug, who’s heading sales at 10 Madison Square West along with colleague Holly Parker, declined to comment on Eklund’s purchase. Eklund’s business partner John Gomes also recently acquired an apartment in a Witkoff property, at 150 Charles Street, Eklund noted.

Meanwhile, Eklund, currently on business in Sweden, closed a deal yesterday for the most expensive apartment ever sold in Stockholm on a per square meter basis, he told TRD. The apartment, in Stockholm’s city center, sold for 28 million Swedish Crowns, or 200,000 crowns per square meter. That equates to close to $3,000 per square foot.
