Forest City exec tapped as CEO of Trinity Place Holdings

Commercial real estate firm Trinity Place Holdings appointed a former Forest City Ratner executive as its new CEO and president, the firm said.

Matthew Messinger served as executive vice president and director of investment management at the end of his 18-year stint with Forest City Ratner, best known for developing the Atlantic Yards project. The 41-year-old was promoted to director of investment management in 2006, as reported at the time.

“Matt Messinger brings a diverse background in real estate that allows the company to fully realize the potential in the portfolio and give us flexibility on future opportunities,” said Alexander Matina, Trinity vice president.

Trinity Place has development sites in Lower Manhattan, as well Westbury, N.Y.; Paramus and Secaucus, N.J.; and West Palm Beach, Fla. Third Avenue Real Estate Value Fund also invested $13.5 million in Trinity today. — Mark Maurer
