Fashion magnate Tommy Hilfiger has just listed his penthouse at The Plaza Hotel and is asking a cool $80 million for the duplex pad. The 6,000-square-foot, four-bedroom apartment has 35-foot ceilings and boasts a private park-facing terrace.

The apartment is listed by top broker Dolly Lenz, who told the New York Post that Hilfiger and his wife are selling the home because they intend to spend more time at their Greenwich, Conn., estate.

Hilfiger bought the apartment as well as two more apartments in The Plaza for $25 million in 2008, according to the Post. Since then, he has spent $20 million to combine the three units and fully renovate the space, Lenz told the newspaper, which did not include a comment from Hilfiger.

In April 2012, Hilfiger was spotted at the sales office for Extell Development’s One57, and reportedly checked out plans for a $20 million-plus full-floor unit at the tower. [NYP]Hiten Samtani
