The new coffee den would sit on the ground floor of the 47-unit, Karl Fischer-designed condominium building at 65 Ainslie Street. The closest Starbucks is at 910 Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint, and there are others in Prospect Heights and Brooklyn Heights. As of earlier this year, there were 201 locations in Manhattan, CBS Local reported.

In 2010, Starbucks was rumored to be taking over the storefront at 247 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, the former home of the Bagel Store, which is now at 349 Bedford. More recently, Apple was said to be seriously looking at 247 Bedford for its first Brooklyn location, as The Real Deal reported.  [CBS Local]Mark Maurer
