Real estate broker ads inspire imitation artist

Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery. That’s why artist Phil Jones, a self-described admirer of the way real estate brokers advertise themselves, spent the last month styling himself after agents and replacing their photos on benches with his own.

The project, called the “Faces of Real Estate,” features eleven different photographs in which Jones looks nearly identical to the broker in the original ad.

“I have a deep respect for anyone who is willing to put their face on a bus stop bench knowing what people do to them,” Jones wrote on his website. “I thought it would be fun to do my own take on our local realtor advertisements.”

His works, unfortunately, didn’t last long. Shortly after pasting his broker imitations on a number of benches and bus stops, the images were peeled off or the ads removed in their entirety, BuzzFeed reported. [BuzzFeed]Julie Strickland
