Martin Zweig’s ex-wife sells UES co-op for $21.5M
Investment guru also owned the most expensive pad in NYC
Mollie Zweig, the former wife of late author and hedge fund manager Martin Zweig, has unloaded her duplex co-op at 625 Park Avenue for $21.5 million.
The eighth- and ninth-floor unit sold to an undisclosed buyer, SSRE LLC, in an off-market deal. The only unsold co-op in the 13-story building, near East 65th Street, is a three-bedroom asking $19.75 million.
In addition to the sale by the hedge fund boss’ ex, his widow — Barbara Digan Zweig — downgraded in August from the triplex penthouse atop the Pierre hotel to a more modest $12 million apartment elsewhere in the building. Martin Zweig’s estate put the penthouse on the market last year for $125 million after his death in March — making it the most expensive apartment listing in New York City history. [NYO] — Mark Maurer
