After two years, Gowanus shuffleboard club will open this week
Nearly two years after plans were announced, the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club will open in a 17,000-square-foot space in Gowanus.
Owners Ashley Albert and Jonathan Schnapp will officially open Feb. 19 at 6 p.m., after receiving their final occupancy permit from the city this week, according to DNAinfo.
A set of tangs and biscuits, and a shuffleboard court will cost patrons $40 an hour and can be played in groups of two to eight people.
Royal Palm, which is located at 514 Union Street, will also feature food trucks, a bar serving kitschy cocktails, and for opening night, Albert is bringing in a “yacht rock” DJ. [DNAinfo] –Christopher Cameron
