Media titan Rupert Murdoch is in contract to buy residential condominium One Madison’s top four floors for $57.25 million.

The sale, which is expected to close next week, totals 10,160 square feet and includes two separate units. The 6,850-square-foot triplex penthouse, which was listed for $50 million, will be joined with a three-bedroom on the floor below that was on the market for $16.5 million, Leslie Wilson, senior vice president of sales at Related Companies, told the Wall Street Journal. For the moment, the two units are not connected and were purchased in raw condition, leaving Murdoch to tweak the home as he sees fit, the Journal said.

Murdoch was represented in the purchase by superbroker Dolly Lenz.

Murdoch’s divorce from wife Wendi Deng was finalized in November, and she is keeping the Fifth Avenue penthouse the couple purchased in 2010 for $44 million, according to the Journal.

The recently minted bachelor’s new Flatiron pad, meanwhile, boasts a double-height great room, floor-to-ceiling windows and a wraparound terrace with “uninterrupted cinematic views of Manhattan,” according to a release from the Related Companies, which developed One Madison.

The building is currently 75 percent sold, and boasts celeb tenants such as supermodels Kate Upton and Gisele Bundchen, who last year picked up a $14 million pad with Patriots quarterback hubby Tom Brady. Fashion designer Vera Wang also reportedly checked out the $50 million penthouse, and Leonardo DiCaprio is rumored to have poked around at the condos as well.

Remaining units include a 6,620-square-foot duplex residence on the 55th and 56th floors, according to the statement from Related. [WSJ]Julie Strickland
