Fashion Institute of Technology takes space in 333 Seventh
FIT campus to expand with 55,000 square feet in Samco's building
Fashion Institute of Technology grabbed 55,000 square feet at Samco Properties’ 333 Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, according to brokerage Cassidy Turley.
Asking rent for the space was in the $40s per square foot. The 18-year lease will allow the school to expand its campus. Cassidy Turley brokers Jennifer Ogden, Tracy Johnson and Susan Kahaner represented FIT, while Samco’s Josh Smith represented the landlord in-house, a release said.
Tenants of the building include the New York City Department of Education, Doctors without Borders, Duane Reade and Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Last summer, fashion-centric artist management company Jed Root signed a 10-year lease for 11,000 square feet at the 21-story building, located between 28th and 29th streets, as previously reported. — Mark Maurer
