Six years in the making, the Ludlow Hotel is finally inviting its first guests to book a stay this spring season.

Hotelier Sean MacPherson and BD Hotel’s Richard Born are the developers for the 187-key hotel at 180 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side, Hotel Chatter reported. The duo is also behind the Jane and Bowery hotels, according to the blog.

BD picked up the property for $25 million in 2011 from S&H Equities’ Serge Hoyda, who built a 19-story concrete shell for a hotel and then sought to convert it into apartments when credit for hotel projects dried up in 2009, as previously reported.

Restaurateurs Mario Carbone and Rich Torissi will open “a roughed-up Gallic bistro” dubbed Dirty French in the hotel, the blog reported. [Hotel Chatter]Angela Hunt
