Known primarily for its low-rise buildings, London will soon see a new wave of tall towers.

There are 236 London towers of at least 20 stories in the planning or construction stages, according to an audit cited by the Wall Street Journal. And approximately 80 percent of the new towers will be residential.

Currently estimates put the number of existing buildings within London that are over 20 stories at about 220.

“If you look at the space that is available in London, the only way is up,” David Galman, group sales director of Galliard Homes, part of the the $330 million Baltimore Tower, told the Journal. [WSJ]Christopher Cameron
