The Durst Organization, in charge of security at One World Trade Center, has tapped Freeh Group International, a firm headed by former FBI director Louis Freeh, to help beef up security at the building. The move follows a recent security breach, which saw a 16-year-old boy manage to sneak up to the rooftop of the building to take photographs.

“Louis Freeh’s law enforcement credentials are second to none, and we are very pleased that he has agreed to work with us to strengthen the security throughout our entire commercial portfolio,” a Durst spokesperson told the New York Daily News.

David Velazquez, assistant security director at Durst, resigned in the wake of the incident with the 16-year-old boy.

Durst took over control of security at the 104-story tower in January while it was under construction. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, meanwhile, handles security outside of the building.

One World Trade Center is officially the country’s tallest tower at 1,776 feet, as previously reported. [NYDN]Mark Maurer
