Socialite Cornelia Guest unloaded her family estate — known as Templeton — in Old Westbury on Long Island for $5.8 million.

The historic 12,000-square-foot estate was listed for $6.9 million back in 2012, as previously reported. The home features 11 bedrooms and was the former digs of one-time New York Post garden columnist C.Z. Guest. The buyer was undisclosed.

“It is a bittersweet moment,” Cornelia Guest told the New York Post. “The house has been in my family for 40 years. There are many wonderful memories here. But it is too large for me, and I am excited to move to a new home.” [NYP]Mark Maurer
