The Hudson River-adjacent condo building at 551 West 21st Street is evidence of how much New York City has changed since Hurricane Sandy: The building will feature a waterproof concrete wall for storm protection. Two months after sales were launched in late February, seven units at the Norman Foster-designed 20-story, 44-unit building were on offer. The least expensive unit was asking $7.25 million for a 2,985-square-foot two-bedroom. The priciest penthouse was listed for $50 million; it’s 6,265 square feet and comes with a 4,000-square-foot rooftop deck with a private swimming pool.
