Mr. Brainwash mural coming to Williamsburg
LCOR enlisted graffiti artist to up cool factor at its 250N10 rental building
A huge piece of art is coming to Williamsburg.
The artist known as Mr. Brainwash — best known for his 2010 Banksy documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” — has designed the mural that’s in the process of being placed on 250N10, a new LCOR rental building. The mural faces Roebling Street and is a tribute to architectural pioneer and Brooklyn Bridge designer John Augustus Roebling and his son Charles Roebling.
Installation of the piece, which will also read the motto “Life is Beautiful,” is expected to take about two weeks.
LCOR bought the Williamsburg building from a private owner for $21 million in 2011 and company officials are paying for the installation. The development houses 234 rental apartments. [WSJ] — Claire Moses
