Mayor Bill de Blasio is reportedly on the verge of naming Margery Perlmutter to become the new chairperson of the Board of Standards and Appeals.

Perlmutter is a partner at law and lobbying firm Bryan Cave. She also serves on the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Before joining Bryan Cave, Perlmutter was a managing partner at a private architecture firm for 15 years.

The Board of Standards and Appeals is a five-member body that hears cases from developers and architects looking for relief through zoning variances.

If Perlmutter takes the job, she will succeed Meenakshi Srinivasan who was appointed to head the Landmarks Preservation Commission in May. [Crain’s] — Claire Moses
