Laura Englander Levin, daughter of billionaire hedge fund manager Israel Englander, bought an apartment at 960 Park Avenue, according to Wednesday’s property records.

Levin, a radiologist in Manhattan who is married to author Daniel Levin, paid $15.5 million for unit #10E in the 1912 building.

The seller and exclusive broker of the property, Douglas Elliman broker Kathryn Bregman, put the property on the market in September for $18 million. That price was “a bit too high,” Bregman said. The asking price was then lowered to $16.5 million at which point Bregman received multiple offers, she said.

The sale of the five-bedroom, five-bathroom co-op closed on July 22. The apartment was designed by J.E.R. Carpenter and includes a massive living room, a mahogany library and a separate dining room as well

Bregman, who has been a broker with Elliman since 1982, has lived at 960 Park Avenue with her husband and Morgan Stanley Senior Vice President Robert for the past 28 years, she said. “We wanted a view and a terrace,” Bregman said.

On Tuesday, the couple closed on Penthouse A at 1120 Fifth Avenue. Bregman bought the penthouse from the George Gund III estate, but did not disclose the price. The penthouse had been on the market for multiple years and the most recent asking price was $7 million. Bregman said she paid “far less” than that.

Brokers Bonnie Chajet And Ronnie Lane from Warburg Realty represented the Gund estate in that transaction.
