Broadway firm goes for twofer, doubles space at Brill Building

Key Brand now takes up nearly 34,000 square feet at 1619 Broadway

Key Brand Entertainment, the developer and producer of Broadway shows, is doubling its size at the Brill Building at 1619 Broadway.

The entertainment firm, which is responsible for hit-shows such as Kinky Boots and Beautiful, signed a new 14-year lease. Key Brand will now take up 33,774 square feet, after adding the entire 16,887-square-foot eighth floor.

The rent is in the high $50s per square foot.

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Brian Goldman, Josh Gosin and Daniel Hassett represented Key Brand.

Carole King, Neil Sedaka and Phil Spector are some of the more famous former tenants of the building, which remains a magnet for music publishers and entertainment agencies. [NYP, 2nd] — Claire Moses
