Charles Mallea designed the building, which will hold 38 units. Completion is planned for the spring of 2015.

A conversion of the building has been in the works since last year. The three-story building was built in 1914 and will have more than 25,000 square feet of residential space.

Knickerbocker Lofts LLC bought the property at Knickerbocker and Halsey streets in July for $4.2 million. [Wyckoff Heights] — Claire Moses
