Bowery development site goes for $45M

Five-building purchase holds roughly 75,000 buildable square feet

A five-building development site at 134-142 Bowery sold for $45.3 million.

The buildings have long been vacant, according to Bowery Boogie, and used to house lighting stores. The site offers roughly 75,000 buildable square feet.

E Property Group’s Jan Sasson represented the buyers of the properties. A “local developer” bought the properties, according to the website. While still anonymous, it’s known that the buyer specializes in luxury development.

Two federal style row houses will have to be demolished to make way for any new development on the site. [Bowery Boogie] — Claire Moses
