Extell Development Company applied for a permit to build a new residential property in Yorkville.

The Gary Barnett-led company is developing a 23-story tower at 1681-1689 Third Avenue that will stand 260 feet tall and have 90 apartments, according to New York YIMBY. Beyer Blinder Belle is the architect of the building, which is located between East 94th and East 95 streets.

Tenement buildings at the location have made way for the new structure. The new development will have 190,000 square feet of residential space and a 13,000-square-foot retail component

Apartments will average more than 2,100 square feet, according to the website. Most of the floors — from the seventh through the 21st — will have three units. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
