Jones Lang LaSalle’s Matthew Astrachan was slapped with a $20 million defamation suit by his estranged wife after he allegedly blocked her from accessing his credit cards and pulled her membership at the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club.

As a result, Sheri Astrachan’s name as well as the amount of her debt, will be listed in public places such as the club’s locker rooms “proclaiming for all to see that she had not paid her bills to the club,” according to the lawsuit cited by the New York Post.

“This has had the intended effect of falsely making it appear to the Old Westbury Club and its constituent members, who are also neighbors and friends of [Sheri], that [she] is without the economic resources and assets to maintain pay for membership privileges,” the court papers state, according to the newspaper.

Some of the couple’s assets named in the suit — outside of the golf course membership — include a $150,000 Maserati, roughly $100,000 in annual vacations, their home in Old Westbury and a $150,000 summer rental in the Hamptons.

Matthew and Sheri were married for 18 years and have three daughters. According to the suit, Sheri kicked the JLL vice president out of their $5 million home after he allegedly cheated on her with “one or more sales girls in New York City shops.” [NYP] — Claire Moses
