Sofia Song, Compass’ head of research and external affairs and one of the brokerage’s most high-profile hires after it launched in 2013, is no longer working full-time at the startup firm.

Song, who was the head of research and communications at the listings website StreetEasy before jumping to Compass, is now listed as the firm’s senior advisor for data and market reports, according to the firm’s website.

An automated response from her Compass email account directed research inquiries to Trevor Shanklin, who joined the brokerage in August from the real estate investment trust AvalonBay Communities.

Compass declined to comment on Song’s new consulting role, but sources said she is continuing to work with the brokerage as a consultant. The change took effect about a month ago. Song did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Nonetheless, Song was one of the Compass’ first key hires when after it launched, along with longtime real estate pro Gordon Golub from Citi Habitats and top broker Leonard Steinberg, who defected from Douglas Elliman with business partner Hervé Senequier.

More recently, the firm is beefing up its roster of Brooklyn talent. New hires include Lindsay Barton Barrett, Patrick Brennan and the Barak/Blackburn team from Corcoran Group.

A look at Compass’ website this week also indicates that Golub, formerly chief residential officer, is now the firm’s head of agent development and rentals. The new title is in response to confusion over the former moniker, sources said.
