Smoke shop Barclay-Rex signs 20-year lease in FiDi

New York City cigar staple Barclay-Rex is puffing its way into the Financial District.

Founded in Manhattan in 1910, the tobacconist will open a new shop at 126 Pearl Street, according to Crain’s. Currently, Barclay-Rex operates out of a temporary space located at 90 Water Street.

Owner Vincent Nastri III has signed a 20-year lease for the entire four-story building, according to Crain’s

The larger space will include a ground level cigar shop and a private smoking lounge on the second floor. The basement will be used for a late-night delivery service. The third and fourth floors will become apartments. [Crain’s] – Christopher Cameron
