NYC to get first massive ball pit for adults

Forget the waterslide in the Financial District; New York City is getting an even more nostalgic amenity — a massive ball pit for adults.

For everyone who doesn’t work in the Facebook HQ, a huge ball pit – a.k.a. “interactive art installation promoting the transformative power of play” — for adults will open in the offices of creative agency Pearlfisher at 455 Broadway, according to Curbed.

The pit opens August 21 and will feature 81,000 white balls in a room. Get there while it lasts – or before it gets too disgusting – because the installation closes September 21.

And as with the waterslide, you’ll need a reservation for 30 minutes of ball pit bliss. There is a suggested donation of $5. [Curbed] – Christopher Cameron
