Vishaan Chakrabarti’s new architecture firm is eyeing a Union Square office property as its home.

The Partnership for Architecture and Urbanism is in talks to sign a lease for a nearly 2,000-square-foot space on the 18th floor of 215 Park Avenue South, a 20-story building that is already home to architecture firm Perkins + Will. The new firm’s website has few details about Chakrabarti’s new enterprise, but lists the Union Square address as its location.

Representatives at SL Green Realty, which represents the building’s owner, and representatives for Chakrabarti declined to comment, saying that no lease has yet been signed.

Asking rents at the 285,000-square-foot building average $75 per square foot, according to SL Green’s website.

Chakrabarti announced last month that he was striking out on his own after three years with SHoP Architects. He joined the firm in 2012, making his mark with the redevelopment of the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg and the Essex Crossing project on the Lower East Side.
