Football legend Michael Strahan converted his success on the grid into a charmed career on the small screen. The celebrated NFL Hall of Famer and Giants Super Bowl champ has gone on to equal fame as a television personality, with hosting gigs on “Live with Kelly and Michael,” “Good Morning America” and as a “Fox NFL Sunday” analyst. Strahan talked to LLNYC about some of his newest ventures as he takes the next step and translates his fame and wide-ranging appeal into a new brand.

We also spent an evening with celebrated nonfiction writer Gay Talese, who is enjoying a new burst of renown thanks to the 50th anniversary of his pioneering profile of Frank Sinatra. He talked to us about his forthcoming book, a look into the seamy side of roadside motels and the role they played in American culture.

Also in this issue we take a look at private screening rooms, which luxury home owners consider as necessary as gourmet kitchens or his-and-her baths. Our experts discuss what you need to trick out a top-of-the-line screening room, including the latest home version of the IMAX system. And speaking of luxury homes, our new listings reporter Liz Lucking rounded up the priciest new condos on the market and breaks down their amenities, finishes and layouts.

Spring is on our minds – or more accurately – taking off for spring break. In Luxe Life, we packed up the latest travel accessories and beachwear so you can travel and enjoy your warm weather vacation in style.
