The Brooklyn Navy Yard just got a little bit sweeter.

Artisanal confectioner Mast Chocolate took 65,000 square feet at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Green Manufacturing Center, which is now fully leased, according to a news release.

It will use the space as a head office and chocolate production facility, as well as a brewery for the company’s signature non-alcohol chocolate beer.

Douglas Elliman Commercial’s Irene Nickolai and Thomas Hockfelder represented Mast in the deal.

The company will move from its current office just outside the Navy Yard at The 46 Washington Avenue in Wallabout. It will continue to operate its retail location at 111 North 3rd Street in Williamsburg, as well as its “chocolate laboratory” at 105a North 3rd Street.

The company, founded in 2007 by Rick and Michael Mast, joins several other food and beverage companies at the Navy Yard, including Brooklyn Roasting Company, and Kings County Distillery, and Russ & Daughters, which took 14,000 square feet at the Yard’s food hall in February.

In December, reports surfaced that the company’s founders were not creating “bean to bar” products as they had touted, accusations Mast denied.  – Ariel Stulberg
