Zynga ditches plan to sell $500M headquarters

The San Francisco-based gaming giant paid $228 million for the building in 2012

Gaming giant Zynga isn’t going anywhere. The company has abandoned plans to unload its high-end headquarters in San Francisco.

For months, the company had been exploring the possibility of selling its Design District offices, which are valued at more than $500 million, according to the New York Post.

The creator of Farmville and Words With Friends has struggled since founder Mark Pincus stepped down as chief executive in March.

Sources told the Post that the cost of leasing back their building would be too high.

“They couldn’t find anybody that would give them the kind of rent they were looking for,” a Silicon Valley insider told the Post.
