In the shadow of Moinian Group’s colossal rental building Sky, the developer is planning a more modest apartment building at 572 Eleventh Avenue, new renderings show.
Located just one block from its 70-story, 1,175-unit counterpart, the building will rise 13 stories and house 165 units, according to New York YIMBY. The average unit will measure 750 square feet. The building itself will span the block between 43rd and 44th streets. The site was formerly home to retro eatery Market Diner.
The 125,000-square-foot project will have 26,700 square feet of retail and floor-to-ceiling window on the top floors, which will have a series of small setbacks and terraces. CentraRuddy is the architect.
Moinian bought the site for $5.9 million in 2004. In 2015, the developer raised $361 million on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, some of which was used to fund the project. [NY YIMBY] — E.B. Solomont
