Pave paradise and put up another parking lot, Amagansett

September 14, 2016 05:29PM

The East Hampton Town Board last week approved the purchase of 2.5 acres adjacent to the Amagansett business district parking lot. About 30 percent of that open land will be used for an additional 80 parking spaces. The rest will be developed into a park. The sellers were Tom and Herbert Field, the East Hampton Star reported. The town’s community preservation fund will cover 70 percent of the cost, while capital funds will account for the rest. [EHS] — Cathaleen Chen
