Williamsburg isn’t known for its wide open spaces. But a rare 2.5-acre swath just south of the Williamsburg Bridge has hit the market.

Con Edison is unloading a waterfront property at 500 Kent Avenue, near the East River Ferry stop, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Brooklyn Tech Triangle and the forthcoming Brooklyn-Queens Connector, according to DNAinfo.

It sounds like a developer’s dream, but there is a catch. The site is currently zoned for manufacturing, although the buyer could also build offices or another commercial space without further rezoning, Cushman and Wakefield, which is handling the sale, noted.

The asking price was not listed. [DNAinfo]Christopher Cameron
