Wainscott’s Montauk Highway corridor, a hamlet that stretches along Montauk Highway from the William Floyd Parkway to the Forge River, will not house any new developments for one full year. The measure will allow land-use consultants to prepare for long-term zoning changes, 27East reported. The moratorium, adopted by the East Hampton Town Board last week, will apply to all commercial properties and some residential zones. The ultimate goal? To eventually transform Wainscott from its current strip mall layout to a more walkable downtown. [27East] — Cathaleen Chen
