Olivia Palermo, the socialite who was a major character in the MTV series “The City,” and her husband, German model Johannes Huebl, have purchased an apartment in DUMBO’s Clocktower building, according to city records.

The couple purchased the apartment using two LLCs, FLOTO and Billy Budd. FLOTO is controlled by Huebl, and Palermo owned a horse named Billy Budd, so it is likely that that LLC is hers. They paid $2.95 million for the apartment in an apparent off-market deal. The seller is German entrepreneur Richard von Rheinbaben.

Palermo appeared on “The City” starting in 2009, but she was known among the New York social set before that for her supposed rivalry with socialite Tinsley Mortimer, which was documented on the now-defunct site Socialite Rank. All of the “Gossip Girl” -like drama was documented in a 2007 New York Magazine cover story.

The apartment Palermo and Huebl bought is about 2,200 square feet, and has two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and park and river views.
