Architect Santiago Calatrava’s soaring Oculus structure

A woman was pronounced dead after falling from a escalator inside Santiago Calatrava’s $3.9 billion Oculus early this morning. 

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, fell some 30 feet while reaching for a hat dropped by her twin sister, police told the New York Daily News. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. this morning.

She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. [NYDN]Christopher Cameron
