The man who once sang “I Am a Rock” is likely wishing his house was built on one right now. A cottage in the 75-year-old musician’s cliff-side Montauk estate is edging toward the ocean as the bluff on which it sits slowly erodes. The home is now just 10 feet away from the cliff, the New York Post reported. The East Hampton Planning Department is now reviewing the application to move the home back. “It was teetering on the edge,” said planning official Lisa D’Andrea. But fear not, Simon fans. The musician himself does not live in the cottage — one of his relatives does. [NYP]
