The Sag Harbor Cinema could soon be ready for its closeup. A community organization dubbed the Sag Harbor Partnership is in contract to purchase the fire-torn movie theater from owner Gerald Mallow, East Hampton Star reported. At least one million-dollar donation has already rolled in, according to April Gornik, the vice president of the partnership, which plans to redevelop the1930s-era cinema. She told the newspaper that construction will cost between $4 million to $5 million, and that the makeover will include restoring the facade, building two theaters and adding a new nonprofit arts and education center.
