In an rather misguided piece on “Last Week Tonight” host, John Oliver, the Observer (which accuses him of hypocrisy for buying a home with a built-in tax abatement) almost incidentally disclosed that he is the owner of a very nice penthouse at 60 Riverside Boulevard.
Per city records, Oliver and his wife Kate Norley purchased the apartment in 2015 for $9.5 million under the LLC “Hoagie’s Place.” According to the listing, with Bruce Mishell of Nest Seekers International, the 3,096-square-foot condo has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a terrace, a glass-enclosed corner room and a Zuma deep soaking tub. The building, which was developed by Extell, has a 75-foot pool, a basketball and squash court, a rock climbing wall and a bowling alley.
Oliver has hosted “Last Week Tonight” on HBO since 2014, though he got his big break on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in 2006.
These pictures of the apartment come from the original listing, and so do not reflect Oliver’s current furnishings.
