Volunteers of America-Greater NY inks 30K sf lease at UBS Realty’s 135 West 50th Street

Nonprofit that provides assistance to those living with HIV/AIDS is relocating from 340 West 85th St.

Faith-based social service organization Volunteers of America-Greater New York leased 30,000 square feet at UBS Realty Investors’ 135 West 50th Street.

The 30,282-square-foot lease has a term of 16 years, according to the Commercial Observer. The financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.

The nonprofit, which provides assistance and support to those living with HIV and AIDS, will be relocating from its Upper West Side home at 340 West 85th Street, where it’s been headquartered for more than 50 years.

The move allows the agency to “establish a more efficient and collaborative workspace for its employees,” said Cushman & Wakefield’s David Lebenstein, who represented the tenant along with colleague Debra Wollens.

UBS Realty’s 861,000-square-foot, 23-story building between Fifth and Sixth avenues is 85 percent leased to tenants such as the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services and the accounting firm Weiser Mazars.
