Late Jennifer Blumin to receive memorial bench in Tribeca

In 2015, LLNYC sat down with Skylight Studio’s CEO Jennifer Blumin in her stunning apartment in Tribeca. Blumin told us how she turned her passion for urban decay and adventure into a thriving events business, how she captured the imaginations of NYC’s tech and fashion players, and how her venues became the home of Fashion Week.

But in May, we were shocked and disturbed to learn of Blumin’s untimely death in airplane crash over the Bermuda Triangle.

Now her friends and neighbors are coming together to honor her legacy with a memorial bench in her favorite local park.

A fundraising campaign will add the memorial bench to the Hudson River Park and it has already surpassed its fundraising goal of $47,000, according to Patch. The bench will be located near the Pier 25 Playground, one of her family’s favorite spots in the area.[Patch]
