Why Americans should be grateful for Nikki Haley’s NYC condo

'Cause she's making some compromises on our behalf apparently

The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations lives in a spacious condo with a private pool, her own dedicated elevator and breathtaking views of New York City, but here’s why we should all be thankful Nikki Haley has settled where she has: she’s a stone throw’s away from the UN at 50 United Nations Plaza.

Developed by Zeckendorf Development and Global Holdings, the penthouse at the building is selling for $56 million — slashed from its $70 million original asking price — so one can only imagine what Haley’s monthly rent might be, but, as the New York Post reports, the U.S. government is footing the bill for her accommodation — and most aspects of her daily life.

Most notably that includes security and transportation costs, which are considerably lower thanks to Haley’s rental choice that is much closer the UN than previous ambassadors’ residence at the Waldorf-Astoria. Though it should be noted, the hotel is under going a three-year renovation so there may not have been much choice for Haley and the Mission.
