Montauk 24 Realty LLC bought the Hampton Bays Diner property in June for $3.2 million, and the as-of-yet unidentified owners are slowly moving forward on changes for the 1.7-acre site. A lawyer representing the company, Joseph Vona, said the owners “want to put something on the property that is good for the town,” which includes an eatery. Plans will likely include a new entrance to the lot that will ease traffic concerns at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Flanders Road but could also include building additional office space.
